The country music stars are the latest musicians to perform at halftime of a Thanksgiving Day game in Dallas.
Lainey Wilson performs a medley during a lifetime achievement award tribute to George Strait during the 58th Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.Dolly Parton, Creed, Destiny’s Child and Carrie Underwood are just a sampling of some of the superstars who have performed in Arlington forWilson, who is a native of Baskin, Louisiana, got her start in the Nashville music scene, living in a camper trailer outside of a music studio.
Dressed in an all-white jumpsuit, overcoat and matching cowboy hat, Wilson discarded her jacket as she marched out to the makeshift stage in center field Thursday.Wilson began by performing “Heart Like a Truck” which was followed up by “Hang Tight Honey.” She then transitioned into “4x4xU.”. Jelly Roll was nominated for the 66th Grammy’s Best New Artist award, along with being the first musical guest on the 50th season of NBC’s Saturday Night Live this fall.
Wilson finished off her performance with her song “Wildflowers and Wild Horses” before wishing the AT&T STadium crowd a happy Thanksgiving.The Cowboys led the New York Giants 13-10 at halftime of the Thanksgiving Day game, thanks to a pair of Brandon Aubrey field goals and a defensive touchdown from linebacker DeMarvion Overshown.Kellen Bulger is an audience producer on The Dallas Morning News' sports desk.
