Healthcare workers are the true heroes of the COVID-19 pandemic—the people that are helping to put patient care as the first priority and doing it without always having the proper personal protective equipment . In countries all across the globe, people have taken to spending a few minutes each day standing on their balconies and in windows to create a sense of community and applaud healthcare workers—including in the UK.
In the caption the official Kensington Palace account wrote, “To all the doctors, nurses, carers, GPs, pharmacists, volunteers and other NHS staff working tirelessly to help those affected by #COVID19: thank you.#ClapForOurCarers #ClapForCarers #ThankYouNHS #ClapForNHS.” The call to action asked all Britons to give a round of applause on March 26 to show appreciation for all the healthcare professionals working hard to fight COVID-19.
