Way before Union starred as Isis in, the two had been making the rounds in Hollywood—on shows likeand before any of us knew it, they were household names.in which former DEA agent Sydney Burnett heads to the LAPD. There, she's partnered with Nancy McKenna, Alba's character, who is originally thought to be timid, but ends up surprising everyone.
I have to take a minute to say how awesome it is to watch a show in which two women of color are co-starring as the leads, with both characters fully fleshed-out and well-rounded. We still have a long way to go towards equality, but this show is a major step in the right direction. It's evidence that women of color can carry their own shows
, and deserve to be invested in.
