Former Eskom CEO Jacob Maroga says renewable energy alone will not solve the country's ongoing electricity crisis.
This is amid mounting calls for Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe to open the door for more renewable energy.
Maroga says power cuts can be ended if there's consistent performance of current generation at existing plants. At the same time, Maroga says the government needs to prioritise competence over political deployments if it hopes to turn things around.Watch the full interview in the video above.
