Ingraham criticized the South Bend mayor as 'a darling of metro lefties' who is really 'a garden variety leftist.'
Fox News host Laura Ingraham slammed Democratic 2020 contender Pete Buttigieg as a pawn of a “leftist” media hoping to take down President Donald Trump in 2020.
Calling his public image “carefully curated,” Ingraham argued Buttigieg was really a “garden variety leftist.” Homing in on Buttigieg’s past criticism of Trump, she argued the media was using Buttigieg—a soft-spoken, married, Christian Midwestern—to appeal to “conservative family values” in a bid to take down the president. At an August 2018 Democratic event, the mayor called Trump "basically a disgraced game show host," according to the The Chicago Sun-Times.
