WATCH: 'BoysPlanet' Introduces HwangMinhyun As Program's 1st 'Star Master'
. Normally, the program would have one MC who would lead the contestants from start to finish. Instead, “Boys Planet” takes on a new system with “Star Masters,” who will change with each mission. Each Star Master will be a senior artist who will act as a role model for the trainees and share different kinds of advice with them.
The first “Boys Planet” Star Master is Hwang Minhyun, who competed on Mnet’s “Produce 101 Season 2” in 2017 with fellow NU’EST members Baekho, JR, and Ren. Hwang Minhyun ultimately finished in the top 11 and debuted as a member of project group Wanna One later that year. In the introduction clip, Hwang Minhyun introduces himself and talks about what an honor it is to join “Boys Planet” as a Star Master. He continues, “Since I understand the trainees’ eager hearts so well, I hope my experience becomes of at least a little bit of help. I believe that all the appearing trainees are the future of K-pop who are worthy of shining.” To conclude, Hwang Minhyun asks viewers to send lots of support to the contestants.Mnet’s “Boys Planet” premieres on February 2 at 8 p.m.
