Biden spoke to the employees for about 16 minutes as part of his tour of the plant. His speech aired live on Alabama News Network. The president said we are at an inflection point in our history, with autocracy battling democracy. He says China’s leadership believes that democracy can’t be sustained in the 21st Century because it takes too long to build a consensus regarding tackling issues, while a one-person autocracy can move much quicker.
