Residents took a stand after balaclava-clad yobs attempted to smash the locks off parked motorbikes.
Brave locals took a stand against criminals in their area after masked thugs tried to steal motorbikes in broad daylight. The balaclava-clad gang tried to smash the locks on the vehicles with hammers in Berkeley Square, Clifton, Bristol, on Monday afternoon.
Onlookers begin yelling at the gang at this point, and another man steps in to confront them. He is then also threatened with the hammer, Bristol Live reports. Having failed in their attempts to steal a motorbike, the trio then make off on the bike on which they arrived. As they speed away, a third member of the public gets involved, chasing them while holding a fire extinguisher, which he throws at the fleeing gang, clipping the motorbike.
Footage of the incident has been posted on social media, with more than a million people watching it on X, formerly known as Twitter. Avon and Somerset Police have launched an investigation into the incident, but no arrests have yet been made.
