Women born in the 1950s who were affected by short-notice changes to their State Pension age should be compensated
A new update has been released for WASPI women who are waiting for progress on compensation for changes to the State Pension age.
Secretary of State for Work and Pensions Mel Stride MP made a statement to the House of Commons about the PHSO's final report on March 25, but did not commit to a timetable for addressing compensation, despite repeated calls from MPs of all parties. Mr Stride mentioned that the 100-page report was "complex" and said several times that the UK Government "will look at these matters extremely carefully".
Ms Madden said that the PHSO's report has three simple conclusions: "The DWP failed us very badly; WASPI women should be compensated; Parliament should step in to set up a scheme."
