The Women Against State Pension Inequality campaign has secured talks with new Pensions Minister Emma Reynolds as they continue to fight for pension justice for women
The WASPI campaign has secured a ministerial meeting in their fight for pension justice for women. The group - full name Women Against State Pension Inequality - has received confirmation that the new Pensions Minister, Emma Reynolds MP, will engage in discussions with them and representatives from the 1950s-women campaign. This meeting is scheduled to take place after MPs return to the House of Commons on September 2, following the parliamentary summer recess.
Pre-election polls showed that 68% of the electorate supported the idea that quick and just compensation should now be provided to 3.6 million women who were inadequately informed about the State Pension age changes. Reference to complaints concerning State Pension age adjustments was also noted in the PHSO's annual review, dated July 18, for the fiscal year of 2023/24.
