Campaigners say they are 'getting back to work now for a busy season of party conferences and political reshuffles'

The Department for Work and Pensions has been asked about providing new financial help for millions of women affected by State Pension age changes.

Ms Trott also highlighted how the UK Government is “committed to delivering a comprehensive package of support to help older workers to remain and return to work”.The Midlife MOT is also available online here. In a separate question, Mr Hanvey also asked if there had been recent discussions with relevant stakeholders on pensions for women born in the 1950s.

The North Ayrshire and Arran MP is also urging the UK Government to “respond promptly” to the findings from the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman’s report into the way the changes to the State Pension age were communicated. A final stage three report will then recommend to the UK Government what level of compensation should be paid to affected women, but campaigners say women have waited long enough and ministers should act now.
