USC appears to have settled on its post-Mike Bohn athletic director to lead the Trojans’ athletic department into a crucial era.
On Monday morning, after a news release from USC announced president Carol Folt would make a “special announcement regarding USC Athletics” at 1 p.m. PST, multiple reports broke that Washington’s Jennifer Cohen has been hired as USC’s newest athletic director. She’ll become the first female athletic director in USC history.
Cohen has helmed Washington’s staff since May 2016, when in her first season as Washington’s athletic director, the Huskies’ football team streaked to a College Football Playoffagainst Alabama. She oversaw a massive turnaround with Washington’s football team in 2022 — not dissimilar to USC’s same-year turnaround — hiring former Fresno State coach Kalen DeBoer to flip the program’s record from 4-8 in 2021 to 11-2 in 2022 and a win over Texas in the Alamo Bowl.
