'Washington Post' reporter Carol Leonnig's tweets have been fueling Jeffrey Epstein conspiracy theorists. Why is she still covering the story for a paper of record?

But perhaps more to the point, the language of the tweet sounded suspiciously similar to the outpouring of conspiracy theories that have appeared following Epstein’s death, from to those on the left who pointed to Trump — or, more often than not, just vaguely gestured at other unidentified, shadowy forces.
