In the wake of the second assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump, many are discussing how the nation got to this moment politically as well as wondering how law enforcement allowed it to happen. Washington insider Armstrong Williams thinks this is a learning moment for Americans, for them to realize that the Secret Service and other policing organizations are not like they are in the movies.
"I think we have this movie image of what the FBI is, what the CIA is and what the Secret Service is," Williams told The National Desk Monday. "We realize they're overwhelmed: they don't have the personnel, they don't have the capacity. ... I think we sometimes expect too much of these law enforcement agencies.for Williams' thoughts on the increasing possibility of political violence in the country, and how rhetoric on both sides is fueling that potential.
