Washington County hosted an interagency emergency response training Tuesday morning at the St. George Regional airport.
First responders from fire, police, EMS, and air ambulance departments from across the county participated in the training. This included teams from St. George, Washington City, Hurricane, Hilldale and Santa Clara.
“When you have real people screaming, scared, with scary looking injuries, it really increases the adrenaline in your body and you really get a chance to simulate what it is really like in an actual situation,” said Jennifer Jensen, the co-director of this year’s simulation. “The live actors are such a valuable piece of this tool.”
Robert Stoker, the Fire Chief in St. George, said that the training at the airport is transferrable to many other emergency scenarios.
