The Golden State Warriors will bring Chris Paul off the bench vs. the Houston Rockets
With Draymond Green returning from injury, the Golden State Warriors will be bringing Chris Paul off the bench for the first time in his career. While this is the most logical move with Golden State's lineup construction, it will be odd seeing Paul come off the bench for the first time in his career.
While Paul had previously pushed back against the idea that it was a given he would come off the bench with Golden State at full strength, it always felt likely that this would be the move. A three guard lineup with Paul, Steph Curry, and Klay Thompson is tough to survive defensively, and it becomes even more of a defensive challenge with Kevon Looney moving to the bench.
Facing a bad Rockets team early in the season, this is a good opportunity for the Warriors to feel out lineups and see what works best. There could certainly be games where Paul starts and Looney comes off the bench, but Steve Kerr and the Warriors are choosing to bring the veteran point guard off the bench for this one.Steve Kerr Gets Brutally Honest About Warriors vs. Lakers
