Stephen Curry sprained a ligament in his left foot after Celtics forward Marcus Smart rolled over his leg as the two went for a loose ball on March 16.
ATLANTA — Warriors star Stephen Curry is still in the “rehab stage” of recovering from a foot injury and hasn’t returned to the court yet, coach Steve Kerr said Saturday.
Curry, who had been spotted Thursday at Chase Center to catch two Sweet 16 games, said Monday that the first week would be critical for his recovery. If he tries to do too much too soon, doctors have told him that he’ll likely deal with a setback like “crazy soreness.”“Everything’s going well,” Kerr told reporters after Saturday’s practice. “Again, they’re going to be cautious and make sure everything is in order by the time he really gets back on the court and starts getting after it.
The injury sidelined Curry for at least seven games and was a massive blow for a team that seemed to be rounding the corner after reuniting its dynastic core.
