Looney feels the Warriors are in a “good spot” as they head into Game 2 looking to even the series before it flips to San Francisco later this week.

“You can’t be tense all day,” Looney said. “[If] you get too tense all day then by the time the game comes, you’re off your square a little bit. But we do a good job of keeping the vibe light but when it’s time to look in, we lock in.”

The Warriors have a good track record of finding success in Game 2s. They’re 19-5 overall since Steve Kerr took over as head coach before the 2014-15 season. Kerr said after a lengthy film session Sunday afternoon that he doesn’t view any playoff game as a “must-win” until their opponent is a victory away from advancing. Looney believes the Warriors’ lengthy postseason experience as well as their ability to make adjustments on the fly is what makes them such a potent playoff team.

“Every game is different. We know that we have a lot of experience and how much one game can change a series, one quarter can change everything,” he said. “We’re hopefully going to get even better as the series goes on. That’s why we do so good in Game 2.”“It’s gonna be a long game,” he said. “It was loud the other day and that’s how it’s going to be here. Pay attention to small details.”
