The anecdotes highlight a larger struggle that Warren and other female candidates had while vying for the Democratic nomination, according to the book. And that struggle was figuring out how to convince the country to elect a woman.Warren’s experiences mirrored similar arguments from Hillary Clinton when she ran as the Democratic presidential nominee against former President Donald Trump in 2016. After losing the election, Clinton pointed to sexism as a contributing factor to her defeat.
