This is because outdoors, there is wind and a larger mass of air.And you might think you're off the hook if you're using so-called 'natural or organic' candles when it comes to toxicity, but Prof Stevanovic said that's just not the case.
She added that manufacturers aren't obligated to disclose all of the compounds used in their products. “Natural doesn’t mean that if we inhale it all the time it’s good for us, so we should do everything in moderation," the expert added. But if you still want to use your candles, the Professor said there are some things you can do to minimise your risk.
She said that inside spaces need to be kept well ventilated, so opening windows and having plants in the home would help.
