The road works involve removing sections of the existing road surface, deep patching, laying a base course, adjusting ironware and laying a new surface.
Ayrshire Roads Alliance has announced they intend to carry out essential road resurfacing works on the A70 Muirkirk Road, Lugar.The affected area will be from Craigston Holm, eastwards for a distance of 800 metres to the end of the village.
An Ayrshire Roads Alliance spokesperson said: “To ensure the safety of the roads operatives and the travelling public, three weekend road closures will be required for some preparatory works and to lay the new surface course. The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories while you can customise your page with the sections that matter to you.The road will be closed from 8am each Saturday and will re-open no later than 8pm each Sunday, when signs indicate this.
Further preparatory work will be undertaken on weekdays with Convoy Traffic Management in place and delays are possible.
