Will beloved Big Bang Theory characters show up in Stuart Fails to Save the Universe? Warner Bros. TV Head Channing Dungey gives her answer.
This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available. Although Max's The Big Bang Theory spinoff, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, has been in development for years and still has yet to receive an official green light, Warner Bros.
Television's Chairman and CEO Channing Dungey is feeling positive about where the series is going. In a wide-ranging interview with Deadline about the company's many small-screen programs, she was asked about the status of the show now that a title has been announced and the cast has come in for an informal table read. We're still a ways away from seeing the return of the characters from Chuck Lorre's sitcom universe, but she assured that work is still going apace for the creative team. Moreover, she believes a decision on the Kevin Sussman-led show could finally be coming soon, given the status of the scripts, and it could involve some fan-favorites returning. "Chuck, Zak, and Bill are hard at work writing stuff," she said in the interview."We’ve seen some material at the studio, and we’ve had some creative conversations with Max, so we are hopeful for good news soon." The fact that the cast was brought in to read and workshop the writing late last month did indicate they were close to presenting everything to Max, and these latest discussions only add more momentum. Dungey also shared her thoughts on the scripts she's had a chance to read thus far, adding that"They are creative, they are imaginative, and they are, most importantly, very, very funny."
