, Anchorage police responded to the intersection just before 12:30 p.m. and closed the northbound lanes of Arctic between Benson and West 30th Avenue.

The Anchorage Police Department reported that between midnight and about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, there were 38 crashes without injuries, seven with injuries, and 48 vehicles in distress. The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities said crews will be working double shifts on Tuesday night. Spokesperson Shannon McCarthy added that plow crews will begin with priority one roads, such as Minnesota Drive and the Seward and Glenn Highways.
