PETALING JAYA: Police nabbed a wanted man as they continued their checks for compliance of recovery movement control order (MCO) rules.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said the man was arrested at a restaurant in Kota Damansara where police went to conduct standard operating procedure checks at 5pm on Tuesday .
"The 36-year-old man is wanted for criminal breach of trust and cheating. He was among six customers in the restaurant," he said.The eatery was also found to have flouted recovery MCO rules when it did not conduct temperature checks nor provided hand sanitisers.The restaurant's manager and two workers, both foreigners aged 21 and 34, were arrested for violating immigration laws.
Meanwhile, checks conducted elsewhere in Petaling Jaya found most residents complying with recovery MCO rules. Checks on 28 Malaysians placed under home quarantine here found them to be at home and following quarantine rules. Police also checked a total of 18 business premises including sundry shops, entertainment outlets, restaurants and supermarkets."We will continue checks to ensure home quarantine and recovery MCO rules are followed," he said.
