Walt Disney finally shows us what this specific version of 'Aladdin' will look and sound like.

Well, better late than never. With just over two months to go before the May 24 release date, we finally have a trailer for Walt Disney's . The cryptic announcement teaser from December was mostly desert shots exposition, while the infamous TV spot last month showed Will Smith's Genie but kicked everything else down the road. The reception to that teaser was so poor that Disney dropped the opening in 2.

With this 2.25-minute reveal, we see Mena Massoud's Aladdin bouncing around like a character in, ironically,, Naomi Scott's Jasmine singing"A Whole New World," Marwan Kenzari's Jafar scheming a little scheme and Will Smith's Genie showing off how his performance won't just be a copy of Robin Williams' portrayal. We have huge sets, big spectacle and nostalgia-bait for the adults.

You've got Will Smith's Genie, which is an interesting star+character pitch, you've got comparatively inclusive casting, and you've got a visual style that looks at least a little bit like a Guy Ritchie movie and doesn't seem quite as much of a carbon copy of its predecessor as Bill Condon's . Again, this isn't to say that everyone who cares about the movie can breathe a sigh of relief.
