'This update, rooted in the legacy of our founder, Sam Walton, demonstrates our evolving capabilities and longstanding commitment to serve our customers of today and tomorrow,' said William White, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Walmart U.S. 'While the look and feel of our brand is more contemporary, our refreshed brand identity reflects Walmart’s enduring commitment to both Sam’s principles and serving our customers however they need us.' Walmart emphasizes that the brand refresh aims to strengthen its credibility and customer connection. 'As our customers evolve, we will too,' White stated. 'Our Walmart will always be their Walmart, and our brand will always be a testament to how we innovate and change alongside them.' The logo refresh will be gradually implemented across Walmart's website, mobile app, and physical stores starting in January 2025, with a full rollout expected throughout the year. The last significant logo update occurred in 2008 when Walmart transitioned from 'Wal-Mart' to a single word, incorporating the yellow spark. This recent rebranding coincides with positive financial performance for Walmart. The company reported a third-quarter revenue increase of over 5% to $169.6 billion, surpassing Wall Street's projection of $167.72 billion. Adjusted earnings per share also exceeded Wall Street estimates by 5 cents. Walmart's operations in the U.S. encompass just over 4,600 stores and employ approximately 1.6 million associates, excluding the 599 Sam's Club membership warehouses it operates nationwide
