NATHANIEL FRAZIER For the Eagle It took three home runs and two extra innings for the Wallace Lady Govs to earn a sweep over the Coastal Alabama North Coyotes.
Elliot also played a big role in the game one win. Not only was she the winning pitcher, she also hit her team-leading 11th home run of the year, which propelled the Lady Govs to a 10-2 win in just five innings. Elliot’s homer in game one came in the third inning. With the game tied 1-1, the inning began when Elly Castle reached base on an error, Joanna Marshall reached on a bunt single, and Reagan Tomlin singled to load the bases. Elliot unloaded them with a grand slam to centerfield, putting Wallace up 5-1.
Game two was a back-and-forth affair. The Govs got a solo homer from Castle and a three-run homer from Erin Curry, both in the third inning. A third homer was hit by Savannah Jenkins in the sixth inning.
