John Supowitz of Coach and Company wonders if Shedeur Sanders' play style might have hurt his draft stock considering the way many franchises are shifting to more mobile or true dual-threat quarterbacks.

In the championship game of the ACCC Baseball Tournament, the Wallace Govs scored in the first five innings of their game against Enterprise State. At the same time, Grant Hodges was masterful on the mound.

The combination of the two led to a convincing 15-2 Wallace victory. For Wallace coach Ryan Ihle, after winning three straight conference championships, he finally has a state championship to go along with it. Despite having an up-and-down regular season, Ihle said his team came through when it really counted the most. “I think it shows the resiliency of our guys," Ihle said."We showed that from the very first pitch of the game. We have had our bad games with Enterprise ... they had our number during the regular season. People are also reading… "But these guys showed a lot of heart. They showed a lot of maturity. It doesn’t matter what happens in the regular season, the postseason is a totally different ballgame and I’m super proud of them for that.” Although it wasn’t the end to the season he would have preferred, Enterprise coach Bubba Fricher said his team had a pretty good year otherwise. This group of sophomores raised the bar. These guys got ranked nationally and they overcame some adversity. "I think a lot of people counted them out about a month ago, but they found a way to get together and get to this game. I can’t tell you how proud of them I am.” As for the game itself, the Govs scored four runs in the first inning, one in the second, two in the third, four in the fourth and finally four more in the fifth. Enterprise scored their two runs late in the contest. One of them came in seventh inning on a solo homer from Luke Nelson.First baseman Kason Gleaton was named tournament MVP. “I never expected to have this good of a season when I first got here,” Gleaton said."But I trusted in the process with my coaches and I knew everybody was here for me. It could have been anybody, but I just happen to get hot and have a good tournament.” This tournament was also special for Ariton product Lawson Leger. He doesn’t get to play a whole lot, but because of injury, he got to play in this championship game. For Leger, it was his third consecutive state championship.” “This is pretty special,” Leger said."I finished my last two years of high school with a state championship at Ariton. Being able to continue that in college is pretty sick.” The next stop for the Govs will be the Regional Tournament. The Govs will play the winner from Florida in two weeks at Troy.
