After 12 years in the making, The Walking Dead is finally giving Daryl Dixon the chance to finish a storyline that it started back in season 2.

With The Walking Dead running for over a decade, some storylines never got properly explored with plans constantly changing for one reason or another.
Daryl Dixon Is Becoming Laurent's Father Daryl's spinoff has presented him with a chance to become an actual parental figure and in doing so, overcome his own tragic past. Season 2 of The Walking Dead began exploring Daryl's tragic past where he explained his father was often absent and abusive. In the earlier seasons, Daryl was a lot more closed off from people, struggling to really let them into his life which had presumably been how he grew up due to his childhood.
Daryl Dixon Was Never A Proper Father Figure In The Walking Dead Despite being involved in the lives of several children in The Walking Dead, Daryl was never a true father figure. When it comes to the Grimes family, Daryl has stepped up to help raise the likes of Judith and RJ , yet they both have real parents to look after them. Rick and Michonne may be gone in the later seasons of the show, but Daryl comes across as more of a cool uncle rather than an actual father.
