Carol Robinson | [email protected] Gene Bolin entered the plea to murder in the 2020 slaying of 50-year-old Stacey Hogan Campbell. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison.Walker County sheriff’s deputies responded to the couple’s mobile home in the 4000 block of Highway 269 after Bolin called 911 to report a burglary. He told dispatchers Campbell was unresponsive.

“We found out that they had gotten into a physical altercation the night before,’’ Carpenter said at the time. “When he returned, he found her deceased.” I got flowers today. It wasn’t a holiday or any other special day. Last night, he dragged me by my hair and slammed my head into the bathtub faucet. It seemed like a nightmare. I couldn’t believe it was real. I woke up this morning in pain, sore and bruised all on the side of my face. But I know he must be sorry because he sent me flowers today.
