The Food Standards Agency (FSA) recently posted a food alert that warned the product 'may contain pieces of blue cloth'.
Waitrose has become the latest supermarket to issue a "do not eat" warning to shoppers over one of its own food products.
A food alert to the Food Standards Agency regarding the latest recall was posted yesterday . The food watchdog genuinely issues food and allergy alerts to let customers know about any products that have been withdrawn or recalled. Point of sale notices have been issued in stores that sell the butter to explain to customers what they need to do if they have bought the affected product. Customers can also contact the Customer Care Line on 0800 188 884, and by selecting option 4.
It comes just two weeks after the supermarket giant also had to issue a food recall for its Waitrose Pitted Spanish Queen Olives. The 113g pack sizes with a best before date of December 2025 were deemed "unsafe to eat" over the "possible presence of glass".
