Harris on Friday presided over the Senate, during which she swore in members for the 119th Congress. She led the chamber in the pledge, but appeared to recite the wrong words at the beginning. The congressman went on to write a fictitious speech, which he claimed Harris would deliver about the pledge.
Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters also mocked Harris, noting “under President Trump, we will restore pride in our country, honor our traditions, and ensure our leaders actually respect the values that make America great.”
