SINCE the early 1960s, Volvo Car Malaysia (VCM) has grown and progressed together with the country, and over the decades has been a brand with a mission to make life better and safer for Malaysians.
Volvo’s technological advancements have given Malaysians the confidence to move freely in the past six decades.
Also, the premium Swedish marque has been behind some of the most important inventions and innovations in the history of car safety. In 1978, Volvo Cars invented the world’s first belt-positioning booster which allowed children from four years of age to travel facing forward – with increased protection and comfort.
The Volvo PHEV range includes the XC60 Recharge and the XC90 Recharge sport utility vehicles – priced at RM355,888 and RM432,888 respectively without insurance. In March 2022, VCM embarked on its electrification journey with the launch of the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric – the company’s first pure electric vehicle presently priced at RM278,888 on-the-road without insurance.This was followed by the December 2022 launch of the C40 Recharge Pure Electric priced at RM288,888 on-the-road without insurance.
By 2030, Volvo intends to only sell fully electric cars and phase out any car in its global portfolio with an internal combustion engine , including hybrids.
