SunOpta Inc's subsidiary, Sunrise Growers Inc., issued the voluntary recall of specific frozen fruit products linked to pineapple provided by a third-party supplier.
Listeria is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes deadly infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
However, healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.So far, there have been no illnesses associated with this voluntary recall.
