The new ASIC is fed by a high-quality MEMS active clock and powered by several dedicated ultra-low noise linear regulators. The result is a boost in the quality of the output signal on the S/PDIF and AES-EBU interfaces.Another new feature for the Rivo Plus is the addition of a 12V trigger-out port for managing other components in the audio chain.
Volumio says that many of its customers have asked for an I2S-over-HDMI for an additional way of connecting an external DAC. With some DACs, this interface brings the best sonic performance compared to using S/PDIF, AES-EBU and USB.The signals for the I2S/DSD-over-HDMI are generated by a dedicated ASIC connected to the internal USB interface and fed by a high-quality MEMS active clock. All the analog and digital sections of the ASIC are powered by dedicated ultra-low noise linear regulators.
