The Volkswagen Tayron is set to replace the Tiguan Allspace in 2025. Here’s what we know so far about this practical new SUV:
Revealed for the European market this week, the new midsize SUV is based on the third-generation Tiguan, but is around 230mm longer, slotting between the latter and the more premiumThe new Tayron is expected to reach South African shores in 2025, with final timing as well as specifications and pricing to be confirmed closer to the time.
For the record, the most potent plug-on hybrid model in Europe has 200kW on tap and, thanks to a 19.7 kWh battery, can achieve a claimed all-electric range of over 100km. Furthermore, a wide range of high-tech options are being offered on the Tayron, including HD matrix headlights with interactive lighting functions, DCC adaptive chassis control, ChatGPT integration and a 700-watt Harman-Kardon sound system, to name a few of the highlights.
