“We realized, right at the beginning, that we needed to hear the voices of the people — of Elders and Knowledge Keepers, of residential school survivors, and of artists — if we wanted a program that could empower Indigenous communities to control their own arts and culture, as well as promote resilience and healing,” said Greyeyes in a press release.

During the consultations with Elders, Greyeyes said one piece of advice stood out. “One of the elders talked about their grandchildren, and they said, ‘all the kids are doing TikToks!'”
