Voice experiences ‘challenging week’ with polls showing Yes case slipping below majority

The Voice to Parliament has experienced another “challenging week” with polls now showing the Yes case slipping below majority, according to Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell.

“The PM Anthony Albanese is regularly being asked now: Why not separate the questions? Have a referendum on constitutional recognition and then legislate a Voice advisory body, rather than making that body permanent,” Mr Clennell said.

“His answer to that is he is doing what Indigenous leaders have requested, before, during, and after the Uluru Statement from the Heart: that constitutional recognition not just to be symbolic. “Anthony Albanese made clear on Sky News on Monday that the Voice campaign would be short and sharp.”
