Voice-to-text algorithms are moving more and more into our lives. So we want to test how well they understand English speakers of all backgrounds. That's where we'd love your help, if you'd like to participate 👇
Whether it’s a robot in your phone, a smart speaker in your home or a virtual assistant in your car, voice-to-text algorithms are moving into more and more aspects of our lives. We would like to know how well they understand English speakers of all backgrounds.
That’s where you come in: Lend us your voice and we’ll have the machines interpret. It doesn’t matter if you know of or have used the devices or services we're testing. If you can speak, we would like to hear from you. To participate in our experiment, you'll need to fill in some basic information about yourself, record a series of sentences we’ve compiled and send it to us. Please record somewhere quiet, and try not to giggle at the things we ask you to say.We are only collecting data from people who are 18 years old or over and live in the United States. If you know someone who can't access the form through the internet but would still like to participate, please have them call 202-216-9564 and we'll send them a paper copy by mail.
