The Mexic-Arte Museum hosted it's 40th annual Viva la Vida festival and parade on Saturday afternoon. The event was hosted to celebrate Dia de los Muertos (Day

of the Dead), showcasing the history and cultural traditions of the holiday.The event began with a grand procession parade starting its march down E. 6th St. from Red River St., making its way to the main festival area at E. 4th St. and Congress Ave.

Dancers were featured as a large part of the festival with their vibrant costumes, as well as floats and live music. "It's amazing to perform right here on Congress Avenue," event performer JT Torres said. "I've done it two years now, and it just gets better every year.""To see how many Hispanics are free and living as themselves is amazing," Torres said. "It's great to bring tastes of Mexico here to the United States."
