Visa reports fiscal fourth-quarter results after the close of trading Tuesday
When Visa Inc. V, +1.62% reports earnings after Tuesday’s closing bell, Wall Street will be focused on the financial-technology giant’s view of the year ahead. Because Visa’s fiscal year just wrapped up, the company is expected to offer a new annual outlook alongside the upcoming report.Forecasting a year of consumer spending is perhaps always a challenge, but the current environment is more uncertain than usual.
Revenue: The FactSet consensus calls for $8.56 billion in September-quarter revenue, whereas the company recorded $7.79 billion in revenue a year before. Stock movement: Shares of Visa dropped slightly following each of the company’s last two earnings reports, and they logged larger gains in the two quarters before that. The stock is up 11% so far this year.
What analysts are saying Peer Mastercard Inc. MA, +1.03% reports earnings before Thursday’s closing bell, while American Express Co. AXP, +0.63% called out healthy spending as it posted its own results last week.
