Is the metaverse Web2 or Web3? After CES, the answer is both. This year’s industry trade show pointed to some trends we might see in the Web3 industry in 2023. camlearnscrypto reports
“When I see executives speak out about [the metaverse] and talk about their investment in it, it really gives me optimism and hope,” Shira Lazar, founder of independent publication What’s Trending and host of the podcast Inside Web3, told CoinDesk. “We start to see these real-life applications beyond the numbers we’ve seen on Decentraland and The Sandbox in 2022.”
A trend at CES was using metaverse technology to enhance productivity and usher in the future of work, paving the way for a new audience to experience Web3. “In the first metaverse iterations, you couldn’t do what we’re doing, which is building the metaverse for productivity, so you can take your customers, bring your meetings, your clients, and embed it in your website,” said Carvahlo. “It’s taking it one step further so we can have real productivity in the metaverse.”
