Police confirmed receiving a report about the incident, which took place in mid-January, and have handed the case over to the Department of Wildlife and National Parks for further action.

A recent video circulating online has sparked public concern after showing two men releasing pythons into a drain. According to Berita Harian, the video depicts the two men arriving in a white MPV carrying bags containing pythons. They then proceed towards a large drain in Putra Heights, Selangor , and release three snakes into it.

The Subang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat, confirmed that police received a report regarding three individuals - two men and a woman - captured on video releasing three pythons into a drain in Putra Heights. Wan Azlan stated that the incident took place sometime in mid-January and was investigated by the Putra Heights Police Station Chief. The report was filed by a local man on February 3rd at approximately 10:15 AM after he came across the video on WhatsApp. The man, concerned for his safety and his family's well-being, proceeded to file a report at the Putra Heights Police Station. The case has now been transferred to the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) for further action.
