'You are a danger to every woman you come across'
A violent rapist who attacked and abused three young women has been jailed for 19 years. Kieran Larbey, 22, was described as "a real danger to any woman he comes across" as he was handed the sentence - which includes an additional four years extended licence to protect the public.
One woman was "effectively imprisoned in her home" by Larbey. Two of the women were raped and the third sexually assaulted. Much of his violence was committed while he was under the influence of drink and drugs, the court heard. Richard English, defending, said Larbey had suffered extreme childhood trauma and neglect, resulting in him entering the care system. His family relationships were fractured and craved stability and closeness, while not having the skills to navigate relationships, he said.
"You simply cannot control yourself in relationships. You have no idea what a genuine, respectful relationship looks like. You have no respect for women or anything else other than your own selfish needs.
