PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur — The village chief of Upper Liason, Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur was shot dead by gunmen riding in tandem along the national highway in Purok 2 of the town’s Gabunon village at 8:35 a.m. on Monday, May 8. Police Major Orlyn Leyte, the Tambulig police chief, identified the victim as Edgardo Estrebor Surigao, 57, the current barangay captain of Upper Liason, Tambulig town.Police learned that the attackers were on board a black Honda XRM motorcycle and were both wearing black jackets, black helmets and blue jeans. The victim was shot while on his motorcycle.
