The 6 ‘4 junior center racked up 32 points, 21 rebounds, 9 blocks, and 7 steals throughout the tournament. It was a dominant showing on the court that earned her the title of regional MVP. “I was kind of shocked, because that’s big, but I wasn’t going to show too much emotion. In the beginning, I was kind of slacking. I was in my head a little, but I had to show up for my team. I couldn’t let them down because if I get in my head then everything goes downhill. I’m pretty sure nobody else went through what we went through, and for us to be going through that with everything we worked for. I just feel like there’s no way we’re going to let a team beat us again.
“It’s great feeling. The goal has been, let’s get the blue map, and for them to buy into it.. You can say, we want to win a blue map, but to buy into it, you know, we’ll make history. Vigor hasn’t won a championship since 1989. That’s big and it’s a lot of pressure, so for them to go with the pressure, and to be able to put everything on their shoulders, play hard no matter what, that’s big.”
