News 8 viewers in Lancaster County just received their mail-in ballots for next month's election, and some are confused by the directions.When you receive a mail-in ballot, it comes with two envelopes.The one you mail it back in and the secrecy envelope.The secrecy envelope has no identifying marks on it, and that is how your completed ballot is sealed and the privacy of your vote protected.
But as you can see, the envelope that came with the Lancaster County ballot is yellow.If you go to the county's voter registration page, it says in bold red letters, you must put your ballot inside the yellow secrecy envelope and then put the envelope in the ballot declaration envelope for your vote to count. According to a spokesman for Lancaster County, the yellow secrecy ballots will be accepted.
