Vietnam has recorded no deaths from coronavirus and just 420 cases

Vietnam is evacuating 80,000 people from tourist hot-spot Danang after three residents tested positive for coronavirus at the weekend.

Those being evacuated are mostly local tourists, with the evacuation expected to take at least four days. Domestic airlines will be operating approximately 100 flights daily from Danang to 11 Vietnamese cities and all those affected will have to self-isolate for two weeks, the government said in a statement.

People in Danang are being advised to only leave their homes for essentials such as food and medicine while a widespread testing programme gets underway. On Monday, the government announced more than 1,500 people had been caught illegally crossing the border from China into Ha Giang province in Vietnam since May.
