The first day of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta launched without a hitch. The drone show and the mass ascension were picture perfect with clear skies and calm winds over Balloon Fiesta Park.
The first wave of balloons launched from the park shortly after their scheduled time and stayed in the air for several hours. Some balloons attempted a splash and dash in the Rio Grande.
