“Lifeguard tells you ‘f—king not to go out,’ you don’t f—ing question it.”
The video, which was posted onby a user shaming the “tourists,” shows the lifeguard on a red all-terrain vehicle arguing with them to leave the beach. The two men had allegedly paddled out to the deadly surf despite the lifeguard’s repeated orders not to. “You even know where you’re going?” he says to them. “You guys are ready for Pipeline? Get out of here.”
One man appears to try to explain himself to the lifeguard, but he continues. “Lifeguard tells you ‘f—king not to go out,’ you don’t f—king question it,” he says. “It’s not OK.” The Banzai Pipeline, located just off the shore of Oahu, is arguably home to some of the world’s most iconic waves. Because of its massive 12-foot-tall scale, it’s been photographed and filmed repeatedly, appearing in numerous surfing movies and TV shows such as “Blue Crush” and “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.” The area is unique because the waves break directly over a reef, which is extremely jagged and sharp.
